What is a "passing grade" for your nursing program?

Published

I am just curious as I have noticed that it varies program to program.

For my program that I will be starting next month, a passing grade is 80% and anything less is failing. Furthermore, your exams must average out to 80% prior to them adding any of your other assignments into the grade. So even if you have an 89%, but your exams average to 79.9, you will be failing then semester.

Our program required a 75% minimum average. Our grades were based solely on standardized exam grades. Our clinical components were graded as pass/fail.

78 for my school

73%. It used to be a 70%, but they raised it.

I can't believe the range in this thread. 65% to 90%. What???

Ours required 80%. I was in a BSN program. You had to get level 2's on all your ATI exams and a 90% on your ATI Comp Predictor. We also had to pass out math tests every semester and pass with 100%

77% and above is passing in all nursing and science courses at my university.

75% exam average for my program. Papers and projects didn't count unless you reached the exam minimum. Clinical is pass/fail. Math test each term is 100% to pass with 3 attempts. Students who didn't reach that goal are kicked out of the program and have the option to apply for re-entry the following year.

76 percent for test grades, 100 percent for dosage calculations, and 100 percent for simulations with no rounding. And the 100s from the dosage tests and simulations don't count towards your grade unless you fail it then you're out of the program.

You have to have an average of 75 for exams, then they will add points from other assignments. For example: if you made 10/10 points on a research project and have a 72 average on your exams, you fail the program. You also have to make a level 2 on ATI.

75% on exam average before anything else is taken into consideration (assignments, discussions, quizzes). If you don't achieve the 75% on exams you automatically receive an F for the course.

75% for the program that I just entered. Our program normally has the best first time NCLEX pass rates in the state of Oklahoma.

74% for each class minimum

80% for each final exam for muah.

65% for passing

This is scary!!! No way would I want to be involved with a program like that. My paramedic course was 80% average.
