HI, I took the NCLEX yesterday and think I failed. The computer stopped at 105 or 106 questions and I felt it was pretty hard. I came home and looked up some of the "easy" questions I remembered and got them wrong. Just wondering cause everyone seems to pass with 75 or 265 questions.

I would much prefer your exam. I don;t know if you know this, but one of the things baout this new type of exam is the computer figures out which areas you are weak in and gives you THOSE questions. You are not graded by your general knowlege. You may very well be graded in your competence of your least well understood subject. Say you know everything there is to know about oncology, respiratory, GI Hepatic, OB, Pedi nursing but are weak in burns. If the computer throws a burn question at you, and you get it wrong, it hones in on that like a heat seeking missle. If you continue to get those questions wrong, you are SUNK.Truly frightening.
WOW YOU GUYS ARE SCARING ME. Just took nclex today. Don't think I did very well. Computer kicked off at around 94. I cant sleep or eat or even talk about it because I start to cry.

Try to check today if you passed on-line... It is not always that you should wait 2 business days... if your board lets you use on-line check... good luck
Everyone gets 50% right and 50% wrong. It depends on how hard the questions are that you get as it looks more at how well you are able to respond to a certain situation. They want to make sure that your skills meet a certain minimum level.:balloons:
Don't know what you mean by 50% right and 50% wrong. If this is so, why do some pass and some fail? Can you explain what you are talking about?

I passed the nclex with 265 questions. The computer randomly gives certain people a set number of questions no matter what your answeres are. Everyone that I know left feeling like a failure..keep your chin up, you'll make it.
It's been a few years, but I remember all too well the sickening feeling waiting to see if I had passed or not. I had the computer shut off at 75, and I just knew I had failed. What was worse, was that the hospital I was orienting at had hired 10 new graduates and I took the NCLEX first, but several of them got their results back waaaaaaay before I did. I had nothing on the phone system, nor on the computer website. One of the other graduates said something about a criminal background check...I started thinking then "oh crap, oh crap, oh crap!".
Not that there was anything there. But, FINALLY I had found out that I passed. It is awful waiting though.

I took 75 questions with RN NCLEX and about 125 with LVN/LPN boards. With LPN boards was not too sure. RN boards I felt pretty good about how I did. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Alright, I just took the test today and it cut off @ 75. Deep inside I feel that I more than likely did well. But there is this nagging, heavy feeling deep inside my belly that keeps saying "what if....." Now I'm trying to patiently wait for my results to be ready
You guys are totally right on it honing in on your weak areas, me: L&D and mother/baby who got a TON of L&D/MB questions, yeah you guessed it ME!!! I still think that I did fine
BTW I need to check and see how many questions were considered "throw outs"
