HI, I took the NCLEX yesterday and think I failed. The computer stopped at 105 or 106 questions and I felt it was pretty hard. I came home and looked up some of the "easy" questions I remembered and got them wrong. Just wondering cause everyone seems to pass with 75 or 265 questions.

lampara_lady, according to ncsbn, the number of questions isn't an indicator of whether you passed or failed. Getting the minimum amount of questions (75) means you either did really WELL or you did REALLY BAD. It can then shut off at any time after #75. They explain that the computer shuts off when it can determine with 95% certainty of where you stand within the pass/fail line. I've known a lot of people who got 265 questions and it's been divided as to how many passed and how many failed with that many questions. So, the test is "adaptive" based on how you answer each question. Hope that helps! (sorry if it seemed like I was going in circles - I just got home after a 12-hour shift and yet I'm still feeling up to going to church this morning!)
Hi all...I took the NCLEX June 27th thinking I was completely prepared for it. It took me three and a half hours to complete and I had all 265 questions. Several of the girls in my class had 265 also but still passed, so despite the normal butterflies I felt fairly confident that I had passed. Found out that I'll be re-taking my boards in August, much to my disappointment.
Everyone's been very encouraging, but I wanted to see if y'all might have any advice or tips maybe? I'm still pretty bummed and a little unmotivated.
When I took the exam 6 years ago, I had 75 questions and it took me a little less than an hour. My friend had 265 questions and it took her 4 hours. We both passed!!
Having to re-take the exam is not the end of the world. Just keep positive and review the material. Maybe you can find a review course or a tutor that can help.
