This cut off at 75 thing is making me crazy. Has any one ever heard of anyone being cut off at 75 who did not pass. I took the exam today and expected to have more questions. Despite excellent grades in school and diagnostic test I found it very hard

Last year one student in my program failed with 75 questions. He passed on the third try

A LOT of people fail with 75 questions. It means you did bad. If you pass with 75, means you did good.

You can fail with 75, but it's not likely. Think about it, you'd have to get the majority of the questions wrong, and never able to pull out of a slump of wrong answers to fail. On the other hand, I passed with 83 questions. To me the test seemed easy, but I guess the fact is, the questions I had were likely very hard. I know I had an excellent nursing school program. I wouldn't worry too much until you find out something negative.

I passed with 75 first try. I've only known one person who failed with 75 and he/she was a "rock" and skimmed by with barely a 2.0 in school. Dont be too worried about it. If you're a good student, Im sure you passed!

I would say that more than half my questions were which person would you assess first--sometimes as home health care nurse, some times arriving on unit, sometimes patients coming from surgery, sometimes coming from the ER--sometimes just there. No computation, no electrolytes, no peds, no immunizations, no delegation
I just wish I felt more secure--oh well 48 hours is not so long to wait.

Even good students fail with 75 q.
In fact best students.
It's the same thing as saying, that whoever failed NCLEX is stupid.

"stupid people" have passed the nclex, but I am not the person to measure stupidity. Although, hopefully the "best" students( clinical and knowledge) are more likely to pass

I know exactly how you are feeling. I also took the NCLEX today and the computer cut off at 75. I'm nervous, so hopefully the next 39 hours (and counting) won't be too bad. Just wanted to let you know that you are not alone.
Im sure its possible, but not likely unless you have major test anxiety or another barrier to test taking. It seems like its pretty hard to fail with 75 questions. Like someone else commented, you really have to bomb the 60 questions that end up counting to fail at 75.

I passed the first time around at 75 questions on NCLEX-RN and 85 questions (the minimum for LPN) on NCLEX-PN.
You probably passed so ignore the comments about smart and stupid students.
I wasn't an A+ student in either program but have worked with many "great A+ students" over the years who will sometimes brag of their academic record yet I'd consider to them to be an embarrassment to the profession as their performance is substandard at best and it failed to reflect their academic performance.
I work with RN's who passed at 265 their 2nd and 3rd time around and they are both great!
The number of questions mean nothing.

Passed w/75, in 25 minutes from start to finish. Talk about stressed out!
Got my license in mail 10 days later.
Try not to worry, chances are, you passed!
