Hi all
I am prepping to take the NCLEX-RN on July 3rd. I've been reading through the boards and have been seeing a lot of people mention certain types of questions. (thank you for all the help & support!) I know about SATA questions and all the other new format ones. BUT, what are these "nurse at a conference" questions? What is the focus - how you would network or report or what?
Thanks!

I don't see the purpose of such questions.

Nurse at a conference? Huh?
Yeah. I don't see how that has anything to do with bedside nursing care, unless of course one of the obese conference attendees keels over and you have to perform rescue measures.
I'd say more than half of nurses don't even go to conferences! Why would such a thing end up on NCLEX?
OP, do you have an example?
I got more "Nurse at a conference, what information should she give....", quote]sorry i can't figure out how to link the original post i read this on.

Well, I think those type of questions are just absurd. I mean, really? What the heck does 'nurse at a conference' have to do with assessing a nurse's safety to practice?
Bizarre.

How can you be able to properly care for a patient if you don't understand the medications that they are on? Just because you can't pass them doesnt' mean that your patient doesn't take the meds, or that they won't affect them. Many lab values, ekg changes, and s/s would be missed if you didn't understand the meds that they were on....
Now, if the question is "what is the most important thing to cover when a nurse is at a conference..." then that makes sense. They are still trying to find out if you know what is most important.
And that makes sense.
