Wants to speak to you for your first time works for you? She wants to speak to me next week but all three times she gave me I am at work. I work in a very busy surgical center and my lunch is at different times. Next week is going to be very busy there for me. I responded to her email. I need her to contact me late afternoon, evening or weekend. I hope this won't be a problem. Anybody else have these issues?

I worked 12-hour night shifts throughout my time as a student at WGU. My shifts ended at 6:30am. My weekly phone appointments with my mentor were scheduled for 8:00am because I knew I could be home and in front of my computer at that time.

What time does your shift start? You might want to find a mentor who offers early morning appointments. This will allow you to get the phone appointment completed during your morning commute while on the cell phone. Most of my phone appointments were less than 10 minutes long.

I doubt you will find a mentor who is willing to schedule phone appointments during the evening or on weekends.

Actually,my mentor appts were in the evening. 3 days a week she had hours until 9:30 pm. But i agree on the no weekends. The mentors WANT to work with you. You'll be able to figure something out

My mentor was available early morning and some evenings, she was very flexible. Good luck, I hope you are able to work it out easily.

Most days I start at 6am, sometimes 5:30am. I wonder if they can match me with another mentor.

They sure can place you with another mentor. If your current mentor cannot or will not carve out a late afternoon appointment, another one will (as anecdotally evidenced by a couple of the replies to this thread).

My mentor calls are always in the evening, around 6PM my time - both with my BSN and now with my MBA. I'd get a mentor that can work with you on that. :)

Thanks ladies! She hasn't gotten back to me yet. Hopefully this won't be a problem. :)

My calls are all at 615 pm. My mentor often replies to emails at midnight. You should be able to find someone who can work with your schedule.
