Reading more of these stories of group bullying of a single targeted nurse, I both find it incredible to believe the viciousness described and wonder why a group of nurses would be motivated to drive out another nurse in that violent manner versus going to mgmt with legitimate complaints of their performance.
I don't agree with the Darwin theory in this context but we all have to modify to have successful working relationships. I sure have to and I was neither a bully nor a victim but I had edges to soften and sensitivity to reduce in order to *survive* and succeed in my particular work environment. With my coworkers, admin and patients/families. I don't call it losing myself but rather growth and emotional maturity.

Well, again I do not know what kind of nurse you are.
I will stop here. As a person born with disabling physical traits who lives more than on par wiyh everybody else including you, I find no point in keeping discussion with someone comparing humans with bugs and denying basic human rights for disabled.

Or better still try to support the struggling nurse to help her be productive and a part of the team.

That isn't my logic. That's natural selection at work.
Those born with developmental disabilities or unfavorable personality traits will not live a life on par with someone that is perfect (an example of the perfect person would be me).
I believe that most humans think they can work their way around natural selection, but at the end of the day, Darwin will prevail.
