What to memorize?

I know basically normal lab values have to be memorize. But what else guys? Im not good in memorizing when studying.

I have memorized following beside lab values.I hope you will find this information useful.

APGAR score,Glassgowcoma scale,12 cranial nerves,Angle of louis,Erb's point,S1,S2,tricuspid area,mitral area,Ecg change(hypokalemia,hyperkalemia,hypocalcemia,hypercalcemia,hypomagnesemia,hypermagnesemia)

Four point gait,two point gait,three point gait "up with the good down with the bad",ABG(metabolic acidosis,alkalosis,respiratory acidosis,alkalosis),infection control mnemonic

i know basically normal lab values have to be memorize. but what else guys? im not good in memorizing when studying.

with nclex exam i would say the only things you need to memorize is lab values...the content, its best to know.... memorization can be bad if you forget information....but once you understand why something is happening to a pt...you will be able to answer the questions...

u have to know the normal values for any laboratory findings so that u can detect any abnormality below or above the normal ranges

Don't forget to include different disease that requires CONTACT, AIRBORNE and DROPLET Precaution. :loveya:

mnemonic to remember nms is falter

f - fever

a - autonomic instability

l - leukocytosis

t - tremor

e - elevated enzymes

r - rigidity of muscles

g4 herbs ( ginko, garlic, ginseng, ginger)

autonomic dysreflexia

Hi kit86 ))) Sure NO))) I meant that Garlic is a blood thinner and can interact with Coumadin (bleeding)
