What does it mean when someone call you a "you look like a big kid"

Published

2 of my coworker told to me that I look like a big kid... when I asked her she told me she can't explain it. Might be because of my brace that what she said. I'm really confused right now. Are they telling me I'm acting like a kid?

I would take it as a compliment that I look young and go on about my business.

It would probably be your braces, but somehow it bugs me that two people said it to you, and when you asked them to explain it, they left you to wonder.

That's not nice, and may be a bit mean-girlish. So if something else occurrs with one or both, don't jump to the conclusion that it's something you've done.

They should have said young, not a kid. I love when am told I look young. Doesn't happen often. I was mistaken as an older sibling at my sons high school conference. Granted I did have him at 16. But when I get carded I get all excited!!

Without knowing the social context, I would assume they are just speaking about your physical appearance.
