I am struggling with the question 'What makes a good nurse? Is it skills/experience, abundance of knowledge, or a person's personality- kindness, caring.. ect. Of course the perfect nurse would have an abundance of all of these, but which one is most important to be thought of as a good nurse?
Skills, knowledge, kindness are nice and possessed by the majority but I think the question should be, What makes a nurse remain engaged in his/her work in 5, 10, 20, 30 years?
hint.. More than the nurse is involved in the answer
ETA Tell your instructor I said that is a lame question.
Depends on who you ask...doctors, patients, family members, the general public, management, CNAs, and other nurses are all going to have different definitions on "what makes a good nurse."

Hi Txtotnnurse! Welcome to ...AN.com... dedication to patient care is the foremost quality to being a good nurse. If one is dedicated, knowledge and experience will naturally follow.
