My ultimate goal is to become a family practice np and open up a office :) . Before that I will obviously have to gain experience I will love to work in the maternity ward or pediatrics . I love kids I think that will be perfect for me. I plan on being the best nurse I can be, most are there only for the money but this has been my passion forever. I believe you have to love what you do other wise it becomes a burden. I thank god for the opportunity of allowing me to get accepted. Had to sacrifice many outings, family time to study for pre nursing exams but its worth it I can't wait to begin and work my butt off ! Lol
I just got accepted to a nursing program I start January 10, I'm anxious , nervous, excited all the above!!!
Using your own photo as an avatar is a particularly bad idea. One day, you'll post something controversial, you'll want to vent about a patient, colleague, instructor or boss or you'll give just a few too many details. I'm not saying that the internet is anonymous, but don't make yourself so easy to identify that EVERYONE knows it's you. This isn't FaceBook! Protect yourself and change your avatar please!

I am currently awaiting my (hopeful) acceptance to LPN school! As soon as that is over, I plan to do an LPN-RN bridge. Then I will either do an RN-BSN-NP pathway or a RN-NP pathway depending on which schools I can get into and where I am living.
What sacrifices have I made? I will go from working 25-30 hours a week to about 10 hours a week once my LPN program starts. But I'm sure it'll be worth it in the long run.
I am hopefully attending the Central School of Practical Nursing near Cleveland, Ohio in April.
Good luck to you on your journey!
