What kind of grading scale does your program have??

I was just wondering what kind of grading scale everyone is on for their nursing program... I am in an ADN program and we have to receive an 80% in all nursing classes.. but the 80% is a C. I personally think this is kind of ridiculous and many students in my program have told me this is not the case elsewhere... So I'm just curious! =)

90-100A

80-89 B

And thats all folks. B=RN 79=failing

I attended an ADN program and we had to get at least an 80% © in order to pass.

Also in our program if you failed the same class twice you were kicked out of the program. But, on the other hand, our school has a very high NCLEX pass rate.

ADN program

92-100 A

85-91 B

75-84 C

I think that is right.

No rounding

I would LOVE a 10 point scale!

My 84% last semester was a c. Blew my GPA since it was an 8 credit class!

Damn Final.

I would love if our program rounded. Twice now I have got a 90.9% which isn't round up to a 4.0 instead I was stuck with my 3.5. It isn't the end of the world but it would be nice to get that extra 0.01 added to your grade! Their theory is that they will not round up someone who has a 75.9% so they can pass so they don't round anyone else up either.

In My School Anything Less Than A 80 Is Failing.

So B- Or Bust

If You're Nursing Program Lets You Pass With A 75 Consider Yourself Lucky--75 In My Program Is A Boot Out

Our school requires 85% and calls that a C. What that means is that an 84% will post to my transcript as a 1.9 I wish I had known this before I started here. I would have gone elsewhere as I would like to go to graduate school after this. This students at my school are EXTREMELY upset about this situation. It's fine if they want to require 85% to pass, just don't post it as a 2.0 on the transcript.

I agree with you, it is not only important for future graduate school acceptance , but even employment. We had an employer come to give us a lunch at our school and told us that they require a 3.0 minimum for employment. I am in an ADN program where our passing is 78% = C, a B is 83, but from what I have heard the BSN programs passing rates are 70 only ( in our area). So actually they all have an advantage when applying even to this particular job.

BSN program:

A: 100-90

B: 89-80

C: 79-75

below 75 = failing

we need to have a test average of at least 75% to pass the course

ditto at my school, ADN program

At my nursing program the grading scale is as following

100-91 is A

90-81 is B

80-76 is C

75- 0 is FAILED

We must maintain a 76% average.

Just graduated in Dec. 80 is a C 79 is an F some of you have low grading scales. Our school has around 98% pass rate on NCLEX I guess that is more important to me.
