What kind of Backpack?

Published

I am looking for a backpack. A When I was in school for my BA in Psych I went through six bags in four years. I am looking for something that can withstand my abuse. I also have to carry my Medela Pump in Style (oh the joys of breastfeeding) with me to class so I can pump on break. I need a bag that can fit on my back and that will be comfortable.ny recommendations?

Hi there! I just purchased a Jansport because my last Jansport backpack lasted through several years of abuse. There are other brands that are much more expensive, but the Jansport seemed to do just fine at a mid-range price.

I have orientation in the morning, and I'm already getting that huge KNOT in my stomach. I don't think I'll sleep a wink tonight. lol

Good luck in school.

I've heard some recommend rolling backpacks. Anyone in agreement?

I've been told a rolling scrapbook storage thingy is great to use. It has ton of compartments to hold all of your writing utensils and is biggest enough to hold all of your books. So I bought one. I got my from Jo Ann's. They usually have 20% off coupons in the paper every week or so.

I would also have to agree. While I was never a fan of them before, now that I'm starting nursing classes next week I went out and bought one by Jansport off eBay. It appears to be quite study and has plenty of space. Our textbooks are entirely too heavy to even think of my usual tote bag. They would kill my shoulders! I say get a rolling backpack...If you get a good one, you probably won't regret it.

JanSport........it has a lifetime warranty !

Hello! I took one look at my textbooks and immediately started looking for a rolling backpack. My friend suggested Rocky Mt Backpacks, they have somewhat a decent selection. I ended up buying a JanSport Driver 8, haven't gotten it in the mail yet but I'll tell you if it is roomy or not.

I just went with a High Sierra Backpack I found at Mervyns on sale. It has nice cushioned straps and a belt around the middle for some added support. I don't see myself bringing all my books to class and after orientation there isn't really a reason to. They did have a cute type of briefcase thing on wheels at walmart for a reasonable price. But again I am not going to be carrying my books everywhere. I don't even go anywhere to study than my home (I have two young children). I figure when I do take them out to the park/library/children's museum and to play and I have a chance to study I'll just throw myself in my monster double jogging stroller.

I did several days of research, searching threads on here and online reviews and I finally decided on a Jansport (lifetime warranty) Driver 8. So far it's awesome....although I have yet to test it out at school (start Monday!) but I have been test-driving out through the house and it's great.

What I like about it is that it is super lightweight, has lots of storage compartments (including a padded laptop compartment in the middle of the bag as oppose to the back or front which it could get damaged if the bag tips) and it has quiet wheels, it also has a hidden compartment in the back that is padded and contains padded straps in case you want to wear it like an actual backpack.

I got in on sale at ebags with free shipping! Hope this helps!

Yes, it's super roomy....check my above post! LOL! I wanted it in pink....(I'm not that daring though, plus, I knew it would get dirty from all the rolling) but I got it in black....I'm actually really surprised how many extra compartments there are...I'm really excited to bring it to school!

I tried a rolling backpack...for 1 day! It was great to get into the building from the parking lot, but then you have to struggle through people to get to a desk, it is just bulky and awkward! On Lab day Tuesday I just brought my pencil bag and notebook and textbook in my arms, a little heavy but doable. Today, I found a small leather backpack in a closet at home and took my lab manual notebook with paper in the back and my textbook for Nsg 105 and Pharmacology, my recorder, and pencil bag. That seems to be my favorite bag right now, our teachers said don't bring all our books after the first day, so I haven't and I have been fine.;)

I have used Jansport for the last 4 years and it is still like new. I plan on using it for much longer. And believe me that backpack has been through a lot with me.
