To care for the sick and in need primarily. And the paycheck in nice of course. But to actually make a difference and possibly direct someone to take better care of themselves is a huge bonus! I think that maybe the person who I help save or help feel better can do great things in the world and I was a small part of that. I like helping someone feel better. I feel really good about that.

It's wonderful when you know the care a patient has received has truly made a difference. Seeing a patient who came into my facility on death's door (not to my unit, but to ICU then my unit) and then leave for a bit of rehab before going home makes it worth it. Not every patient is like this, but we had one who was just a pleasure to care for and it is truly remarkable they are alive.

Just to see a patient come into CVI we have to drag back from death's door by their toes and to know that I had even the smallest part in that, that's what it's all about!

Being highly engaged in my duties and feeling I provide a much needed service... And performing it very well.

I love the science behind it, being active (I hate sedentary life) and the pay. I love that I can make a difference and earn a decent income at the same time, although I honestly think we should be paid a lot more than what we are.
