What jobs can I get at a hospital besides a CNA?

Published

Hello, I am currently a pre-nursing student. I graduate in Decemember and also begin the nursing program. Right now, I work at a shoe store, which I mean, I don't plan on working there past December. I was wondering is there any jobs I can work at a hospital besides a CNA just as a pre-nursing student?

thanks.

And you want to be a Nurse?

You can try for unit secretary.

Specializes in Emergency Room.

You can work in transport, the cafeteria, unit secretary,and/or registration/billing. I work in registration currently and have done so for the past 5 years.

Specializes in ER, progressive care.

Depending on the hospital you may also be able to work as a patient sitter.

I work as a transporter at a hospital and I love it! I get to experience it all and go to every department. Making connections with supervisors on different floors doesn't hurt either! ;) Try to get a job at a hospital that you could see yourself working at after you graduate if you can. Meet as many nurses/supervisors as possible and don't be afraid to tell them that you are going to nursing school; most hospitals love to hire and promote within. Good luck!
