Here's my take on men in the nursing profession. The future in nursing for men is good. As more men get into the nursing profession more responsibilities are going to be given to nurses. This is not a sexist statement, just my observation.

A lot of inflated egos. Too smart to be a nurse? What the heck does that mean? Should that be a compliment to you or a castigation to the nursing profession. Well my dear(s), hate to deflate your ego, it's MUCH BIGGER than you are.

What's the point of you coming here with this? I come here occasionally to learn stuff from season and new nurses. The point of this site, I believe, is for us to learn. Who cares what other people think? Do you need someone to tell you that? Probably on your psychiatric rotation you'll find out what your problem is.

Some of you nurses are too hard on the students. You have to realized that they are just that, students.

Seriously, insight on this topic? A simple search would have give you tons of insight.

I would like some advice on a career path and figure here is the best place to start. I am a 42 years old male student in 2nd semester in an ADN program at a Community College in MA. I have done a little research pertaining to careers within the nursing field and kind of like CRNA, but my concern is how long will/does it take to get to that point (RN to CRNA). I am willing to commit the time and effort into it, but at the end of I would like to know that I have enough time to "enjoy" this career move before retirement. I would really appreciate some thoughts or posible choices.

Mine is no longer there, but I would not read too much into this. Could be a computer glitch.

Well, after reading M7 mail, i think it's time to do away with my mailbox. Tired of checking and all I get are BILLS. Maybe i'll put on a padlock and do away with the keys until 5-6 May. This anticipation is worst than preparing for the Teas.
