Is this too much. Well if it is I will just be studying my a$$ off because I have no choice. DO ya'll think that I can do it.

That seems like way too much to me. Do you want to complete the classes, or do you want to do well? It would be a shame to work so hard to take this quantity of classes, and not make the grades needed to get in to/stay in the program.

I've taken Anatomy and Physiology both online and in the classroom setting; I think the online courses are much more difficult and require a great deal more time than classroom courses.

Best of luck!

Well I don't want to seem like I don't care because I do, but as long as I learn and retain the info, I don't mind getting a B at the least, I would only take a C to get in to the program, but if I got a grade that low, I would take it over.

Actually I learn better by myself and I always have. I was in the gifted program all through school, and I graduated 2 years early with honors. I took a lot of bio in high school, but no chem (I should have though)

It will be hard but in my mind I have no choice.

In one summer, I personally think that's too much. As some have said, online courses can be much more difficult than regular brick-and-mortar courses because you are basically teaching yourself the material. Especially something as tough as chemistry, you need either a really good teacher or lots of time to study. With the 3 online classes and studying for 4 clep exams, and a baby at home, I just don't see where you'll have enough time to do well.

I have pretty much got a handle on all of the exams except for micro. And as I said before, I learn better by myself. And I have taken an online clss, and found that I did better than in the classroom, and I had more interaction with my instructor, and classmates.

Why do you have to take so much over the summer? Are you in the RN program?

No I am not in the program, but if I take all of this stuff this summer, my admission for this fall is basically guarunteed.

Don't set yourself up for failure. If you start such an enormous undertaking, forego sleep & stick with it -- constant studying! Otherwise, you may become overwhelmed very quickly.

Personally, I think it's waayyyy too much for one summer, unless you've already taken some of these classes before & are just reviewing a few. WAY too much.

Don't do it! Taking 2 sciences together in a summer session is a stretch, 5 is insane. Are you aware that each of these science classes has a lab component? That means one three credit lecture course plus a one or two credit lab. You would have to have absolutely nothing else to do except read textbooks and be in classes all day every single day during the entire summer and then spend your weekends trying to keep up with the studying and writing papers for the composition classes.

If you decide to go ahead and do this then I wish you success, but I have the feeling that you really don't understand what you're getting yourself into by taking on this courseload.

It will be hard but in my mind I have no choice.

Well, good luck with it then! You'll deserve a big celebration at the end of summer! :balloons:

Good luck to you! I am a stay at home mom and just finished my first semester back after being gone for 13 years and got all A's. My classes were all online. I took Chemistry, and got an A. It was pretty easy. I guess it depends on if you have a head for science. If you did good with science in high school, you should be ok. (just completely stressed out!)

Is it too much? It would have been too much for me, but you know your capacities better than anyone. It is difficult to give advice on that schedule without knowing how quickly you are able to absorb and retain information. OTOH, I am just going to play devil's advocate here and ask you to think about how you are going to feel when your baby isn't a baby anymore. Will you regret not cuddling him more? It is great that he is so content. I would just take care that you don't let that keep you from interacting with him as much as possible. I'm not trying to guilt you at all, I am just trying to warn you that time flies faster than you can even imagine and the time might come when you wish you had paced nursing school a bit more. Unless you need to get through as quickly as possible for financial reasons, I would suggest at least considering cutting your course load in half.

I wanted to ask, too, is what you mean by the baby enjoying his time with a book? Surely he isn't able to turn pages yet?

I wouldn't even take all that in a regular semester, much less in the summer! All I can say is good luck, and if you can do that you can do anything.
