You call yourself "RN, RPN" (assuming you have kept your RPN licence) if you have a Michigan RN license.
Suggest you ask the MI BoN what criteria they used to determine your educational equivalency, and then when someone says, "What the heck is RPN, anyway?" you tell them that it's the Canadian equivalent of (whatever the MI BoN tells you).
Hi. I am a Canadian RPN (registered practical nurse). That means I went to school for two years and was able to obtain a College Nursing Diploma. After getting my license, I went over to Michigan and was able to obtain an RN license. This was without going to school, because apparently my RPN credentials/prerequisites were basically the same as a college RN program.
Lately, I have been looking at posts and they have been confusing the heck out of me.
Right now, I'm confused as what do I call myself? Am I a RN-ASN, ADN, or something else? And also, can I call myself a GN (graduate nurse), even though I have been to a school in the state of Michigan or otherwise?
An answer(s) would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

You don't really want to call yourself a GN- that's a nurse who has finished school but not yet obtained licensure.
Hi,
I did not get full credits for my canadian RPN program (done from humber collge in 2009) from Texas board of nurses (evaluation was done by CGFNS). They have sent me the list of courses and practical hours that i need to complete before i could write my PN NCLEX exam
SilkyKN: From where have you done your RPN program?
What is the process for getting LPN/RPN licence in Michigan?
The courtesy of a reply would be appreciated.
