VisaScreen/Licenses
I currently work in US but live in Canada. Graduated college in Canada and got my Canadian and Michigan licenses as well. My Canadian license expired about a year ago since I have not worked here (Canada) since getting the license and saw no purpose of keeping it. Now I'm starting to (or possibly getting ready) regret the decision. I'm wondering if I have to go through the whole process of obtaining a VisaScreen (from start to finish), plus the Canadian license. Also wondering if I will denied the VisaScreen if I do not have a Canadian license. Please respond asap. Thank you.

Wondering about how long it takes for an AZ license?
Have you gotten your license yet?

August 2013 Caption Contest: Win $100!
New Nurse: Hi, ma'am. I thought it'd be great to buy you a cup of coffee for tonight's shift. WomanRN: That's all for me? Where's yours? New Nurse: Yup! And I already had mine. I'll be getting more on break. Would you like some then, too?

Its official! I am leaving nursing.........
I have been hearing a lot of complaining (I get it), but no ways to 'fix it' or make it better. I get the fact that the job of nursing takes a lot out of a person, but if we say we are there for the clients (patients), then we are there for the clients. And if that means being the whistle-blower, then so be it. Get some like-minded people together, not just nurses, but other professions and the public, and see what all of us together can do together. Remember fighting for our rights (or our clients' rights) is an ongoing battle. There is no end to this battle. If we stop even for a minute, we'll become lazy and because of that, we end up harming a person. And there are lessons us new nurses need from the experienced nurses. Sure we know newer things and are able to use technology better than the older generation, but at the end, it is the experienced nurses that seen it all, fought it all, and know it all. Those experiences will make us new nurses become better and better and hopefully, will help us continue the good fight and later give up the torch to the next generation of new nurses.

Random Topic in a Random Place: CGFNS VisaScreen
Okay. So I'm gonna sound like creeper here. But I went on your page and looked at your topics there. I noticed you said you were from Quebec. Now I'm not being mean or prejudiced here, but I think because you were from Quebec, the CES people didn't think you were competent because you spoke French, went to a French school (I think) and I think because of that, they thought the Canadian (French) wasn't on the same level as their high school standards. I know the French schools in Canada do things a little differently from the English-speaking schools, but I honestly think they are both competent and on a higher level than the American standards. To the Americans out there, this is just my opinion. I have nothing against Americans.

No, they're not medical professionals.

I never did the VSC and I did the NCLEX-RN exam already and passed. Now I'm doing the CES application. You're now scaring me, lol. I had a professor who's a nurse in the US as well and she never anything like this. And you mean VisaScreen for the medical professionals for the said countries in order to get the TN. Because both my parents work in the US and they only applied for TN and were successful.

No, the CES. I have to send them a transcipt from my school. So why would I need to do the CES, if it's part of the VSC?

If I'm Canadian and I live near the borders, do I still need to do it?

You have to pay for the credentials evaluation? Isn't that part of the $500 fee? I think $500 is enough to tell a newbie like me that they're a bunch of crooks....

So I had a question and posted in a different post but no one answered. And I started a new topic. Ok that's out of the way. So for the VisaScreen application: I wanted to know how long it took for the application to be approved if all the documents were sent and there were no more obstacles after that. Thanks! SilkyKRN
