I was just curious to know what schedule all the RN's out there work? I would like to do 3 days on and 3 days off myself, but will take whatever comes available. Please no negative comments- there seems to be a lot of rude people on here for some reason who love to argue for no reason whatsoever. God bless!

I work prn 36 hours a week, one weekend a month...two saturday, two sundays, or one saturday and sunday, and certain holidays required. I love i because I schedule what days I want to work and I float between five units.

I work 7p-7a and my unit does self-sheduling. I usually don't request anything specific and just work whenever they schedule me. Lately my schedule has been two days on and then 2-3 days off. I like it. But it has been where I work a shift, have a day off, work a shift, have a day off and work another shift, have a day off. As a night nurse that isn't cool because the whole time I'm off I sleep and then it's time to work again. So for that entire week I had no life outside of sleeping and work which can get very depressing.

I work an old-school unit as well (8 hr shifts)...I work nights 23:00 to 07:00, 5 nights per week, every other weekend off. I don't mind it....I love my unit and my co-workers!!!

That sounds like my current situation except I am doing 8s and 12s like that. When you only get one day off between shifts it is totally wasted by sleep .
