I might flunk out this semester. I am having problems in Adult Health, and just failed OB.
If I fail out, my school makes you sit out for a year then reapply.
In talking with other students who are in their second attempt in the school, they say that if you fail out of one nursing school, other schools will not accept you for a certain number of years in your state and that this is the only reason they didn't try another school. I am trying to confirm this. I don't feel like I can right this ship and am wondering if I shouldn't withdraw now before it is too late. If i withdraw b/f the first exam i can try again next semester.
So I guess my question is. If I flunk out of school A, can I turn around and apply to school B? Is this a legit Board Rule? sorry if this question is poorly stated.

While I cannot speak for Tennessee, you should certainly take a very long and hard look at how you are studying and what you need to do in order to straighten things out. You might want to discuss your options with your instructors to find out if it is even possible for you to pass the semester at this point. The reason that I say that is that you have indicated that you failed obstetrics. Since I'm not a student at your school, I don't know what your schools rules are for remediation. But that's something that you should certainly take a look at as far as your decision-making process is concerned.
Only you can decide what the appropriate Is for you at this point. I certainly hope that others who are students in your state will chime in and what you know what the basic rules are for your state.
I wish you all the best in your future! Good luck.
TLDR.
Lets stick to the topic.

Why don't you call other schools around you & ask? Or possibly your state's board of nursing?

Probably shouldn't ask for advice if you can't be bothered to read someone's reply on the basis that its too long. :eyeroll:
In most states, no, you can't fail out and turn around and get in to another school. Even if you could, unless you seriously changed whatever caused you to fail in the first place, you would just fail out there too, so why waste your money. Might be time to find another calling if you can't put forth the effort required of you for nursing school.
So thats what TLDR means! I did not know that. But I figured the OP's response was snarky.

Wow... I too didn't know what that meant. OP, perhaps you should look towards a new profession if you are not willing to "listen" to what people have to say. It is a MUST for a nurse.
thanks for this portion of your response, "In most states, no, you can't fail out and turn around and get in to another school"
the rest was Too long didn't read.....
Balloon face? I hope an adult nursing student wouldn't stoop to such a level.
ive already kicked my own ***, I'm trying to figure out if I should gamble with this semester and completely fail out or try to do this again later.

I'm learning more acronyms daily on AN. To answer your question, no. There's almost always a waiting period between failing out and applying to any school. And usually failing 2 nursing courses is disqualifying on applications. I also agree that you should take heed to some advice other posters have given in previous posts, even the long one. Good luck in whatever path you find yourself on.
