What is your graduation gift?

Published

So, we were talking at study group about what we'll give ourselves for a graduation gift.

I am thinking (seriously) about taking a cruise on a small ship to Alaska in the summer of 2010...a 7 day cruise to see a part of the country I have always loved and wanted to get to. I have no idea how I'll pay for it, but I am really, really thinking about doing that.

And, I'll get a second horse when I have passed the NCLEX and have secured a job.

What's your graduation gift to yourself?

uscstu4lfe,

if you are referring to my post...yes, i am. not that i feel the need to explain my reasoning but i didn't say anything about how much i will be paying for it. thank you 'scorpiostudent' for your supporting point of view and not insulting my personal decision. however, i am single with no children and nursing will not be my first career. i have been blessed to be able to enjoy an emotionally and financially rewarding career and subsequently made the choice to choose another area that is equally rewarding. however, none of this would have been possible without the sacrifice of my working parents who were determined to give me all of the tools needed to prepare myself. my father passed unexpectedly from a heart attack at age 50. he was a "work-a-holic" who took pride in providing for his family. so, if i want to carry out a personal dream of his upon completing another degree, i think i am entitled to that. i am not materialistic but i do enjoy nice things. no, i do not have money to "burn". so, the purchase of this luxury vehicle will be as wisely executed as my last one. good luck in your program...wishing you well!

Good for you, it's a beautiful car!! My husband is looking at the new 3-series right now (330i, i think?), he likes the white with tan interior. :wink2:

I'm going to be getting married to my high-school sweetheart a month after graduation. :)

(It's still a year and a half away though) :(

August 2009....can't wait!

Cool! I love the graphite with black interior! Either that or black. They are beautiful cars! My dad had a 535i that drove like a dream. I actually learned how to drive a 5 speed with that car! Unforgettable experience!

All the new cars and vacations sound great, but I think I need to pay off some credit cards first, so I think I'm going for a spa day... pedi, hot stone massage, facial... oh, I can't wait!

Oooo graphite, that sounds nice!:nurse:

My goal is to FINALLY take my family on a real vacation...with hotels, and airplanes, and really nice meals. I am leaning toward Walt Disney World, and am hoping that my by-then 15 yo son will not think it's stupid. I also will have an 11 and 5 y.o. in tow (plus the hubby!)

If not that, then a trip out West to see Mt. Rushmore, Grand Canyon, etc.
