Specializes in Cardiology PAC.

i am new to this board and perhaps i don't belong here because i am a pa. i was a nuse, an asn. while i liked being a nurse, i wanted to learn more and have more responsibility. (crazy i know) i found this board and thought this is nice, i can learn how nurses feel about all aspects of nursing. i work with alot of nurses in an er setting. i read the tos carefully to make sure i wasn't breaking any before i accepted them and recall that a user name cannot reflect that a member is a licensed health professional if indeed they are not. did i misunderstand? it would seem there is one such member blatantly doing this.

using professional titles:

members cannot call themselves by professional titles, if they do not hold that title. ie. members cannot call themselves "doctor, dr., rn, lpn, lvn, nurse,cna, rt, ma" etc, unless they are actually licensed and/or certified as such a thing.

Everyone is welcome here, including used car salesmen, as long as they aren't trying so sell their wares here.

I'm glad to have you. I've enjoyed your posts.

:)

i see nothing in choosing to expand knowledge/responsibilty and i don't believe that other do either

you are welcome to post and share experiences on board

Specializes in cardiac, ortho, med surg, oncology.

i think it's great to have other health care professionals on the board because it helps us to all understand each others responsibilities and frustrations. i also like hearing from the patient side of view.

however your post appears to suggest that a member of the forum is not what their name implies, i.e. they are not the medical personnel that their name reflects. in that case if you are concerned enough about it i would send an email expressing your concerns and providing any proof you have to brian, the founder of the site.

Specializes in Family Nurse Practitioner.

One thing that I have noticed is a lot of students adding a speciality. My only speciality when I was in NS was doing whatever they told me to for that week, lol. Is that what you are referring to?

how to handle personal attacks or objectionable material

if you are ever in a position where you feel you have been personally attacked, do not respond to that attack. please report the post using red triangle report.gif at the top of each post, you can submit your comments of why you are reporting the post. the staff will be notified with your comments for that specific, this is the most efficient way to report post. let the staff deal with the problem, if you respond to that attack, you may find yourself removed as well, and we don't want to see that happen.
