What was your first LPN job?l

Published

Hello everyone. I am a new LPN graduate. I am currently studying for the NCLEX and plan to take it in about a month. How did you prepare for boards? What was you first job as an LPN? What state and what was the pay rate?

Landed my lpn position on the med surge floor where i was a pct at a hospital. I get off orientation dec 2nd. Preceptor pretty cool, 1st week she kinda took the ranks but after that ive been pretty much on my own. 6 patients is great compared to the 12-13 i had as a tech where @least half were totals & had to be bathed on nite shift. I work nites & its pretty laid back but ive had a few tough 1s where i had to go outside & BREATHE! Overall im enjoying my experience & looking forward to this rewarding career!

Just got my first nursing job. I'm in orientation this week. Then I get 5 days of shadowing and I'm on my own. It's skilled nursing and I'll have 16-20 patients. I'm nervous but excited. I did my senior clinicals at the rival facility to this one so I am very familiar with the pace and time management. I know it'll take time and practice, but I feel confident I can do it.

I landed my first job! I'm so thankful. I will be working at a skilled nursing home, Tuesday through Friday, 11pm to 7am. It's perfect for me, as I am currently taking core classes for an LPN to RN bridge program. Thank you all for your words of encouragement.

Specializes in NICU.

Just got a job on Surgical trauma as an RPN in Canada. 4 pts on days and 7 on nights.

I will be working 11pm to 7am, 4 nights a week, no weekends. $18.00 an hour, Georgia.

Thank you for your prayers. I found a job. I am so thankful.

This makes me feel so hopeful! I'm just now in the process of taking my pre-reqs for the LVN program at HCC and I'm so glad I found this thread. Congrats on your job!
