I start school in January and I know I need a stethoscope, penlight, blood pressure cuff, and eye measure along with all my books, supplies, etc. I also need a nurse pack, and I was just wondering what comes in those?

For my LPN all i needed was stethoscope, and they recommended ( I as well recommend a pen light). Then we had to buy a nurse tote that they prefilled with needles, syringes, fake meds, iv starter kits, iv bags, trach kits, catheter kits, ng tubes, sterile gloves and gown, ECT. Anything that you can and will use at lab.

Usually, the school does give you cheap stethescopes but Ive never had a problem with them and my teacher wind up giving my clinical group good ones.Littman is excellent, my parents bought me one as a graduation gift.

I start December 30th and I am so excited I want to go buy things too. But I am going to wait to see what they give me at orientation tomorrow before I go on a shopping spree. :)

NicoleAlbertie84 24 Posts Dec 19, 2013 So I went to orientation today and let me just say I will be buying a lot. I got a BP cuff and a stethoscope but it is soooo cheap! I already have a littman so I'm good on that end but I will go buy my own pen light, scissors etc...

We also go pen light, gloves, bandaids, scissors, bandages, catheter kits, insulin syringes plus a lot more. It was our skills kit for fundamentals. We start January 6.
