I start clinicals in a couple of weeks and I am so nervous. I have no previous healthcare experience so I feel like I am at a disadvantage. My teachers told me that it's basically going to be CNA work for awhile but that does not make me feel any better. Does anyone have any advice on how to prepare?

I have my LPN orientation on January 8, my program starts on January 21, do you his suggest I bring anything to orientation, or take notes, or just sit back and listen to it all?

I have heard that as well that Littman is the best, I found the one I want on amazon, maybe I will treat myself as a Christmas gift!!

Would you suggest I buy my own stethoscope instead of using what is given? I've heard the ones they give us are cheap and I want to make sure I have a good one.

Thanks everyone, my ultimate goal was to leave work during my schooling ( I work at a daycare) but I've been working since I was 16 and now I'm 22, and I can't really imagine not working at all anymore. I am surely cutting my hours though, so I have enough time to study.

I start school in January and I know I need a stethoscope, penlight, blood pressure cuff, and eye measure along with all my books, supplies, etc. I also need a nurse pack, and I was just wondering what comes in those?

I start my program full time on January 22.

What do you all suggest I get for supplies? Also, any extra reference books I may need? And are binders or notebooks better?

Do you suggest having a binder with dividers or a big five star notebook for courses? Also what other supplies do you think would be useful? Are there any books besides textbooks that people found useful during school?
