What comes next after cgfns report?

Published

I just wanted to know the next step following cgfns application.

I know that if my credentials are deemed equivalent to u. S standards then I can register for the Nclex. Now, what if my report says my credentials are not equivalent.. What are my other options? I'm just trying to prepare myself for the next step. Thanks.

Once you CGFNS application is completed it will be sent to the state BON and they will make the decision on whether you can sit the NCLEX. You can not sit NCLEX without the BON ok

Ok but what if the board of Nursing doesn't think i am eligible to sit for the exam? Does it mean that i have to go back to nursing school and start all over?

You may. You may have to remediate in one or more areas (very difficult to do if you are in the US due to the structure of nursing programs). Only the Board of Nursing can tell you potential outcomes. If you attended an unaccredited program or one of the programs (I can think of two or three) that have been deemed unscrupulous and borderline fraudulent (schools not accepted are often specified on the BoN website) you would have no choice but to go back to an accredited nursing school to be considered for a nursing license by examination or endorsement.
