So my friend and I are debating what is considered collar length when it comes to hair.
She thinks it is above the bottom edge of the collar on a collared (polo) shirt.
I say it is above the collar on a collared shirt.
Neither of us knows....who is right?

I just graduated LPN school and our school's policy was if the hair touched the collar at all, it had to be pulled up so that none of the hair touched the collar..any part of the collar.
Best bet is to consult with your school and what they define as the collar and where the hair can fall.

You aren't going to get "kicked out" or yelled at over 1" here or there.
A collar, is technically going to "fall" on someone differently for each shirt that they have on.
Just hit it in that area somewhere and don't stress over it.

I cant speak for your school, but in general (except military) they just dont want your hair down unless it is too short to be put up. If your hair is in between, like mine, they prefer it to be out of my face so I just clip it back in the front. Like a half pony tail, but smaller. Try that and bring a pony tail holder and bobbie pins just in case. If you can, ask an instructor before clinicals if your hair needs to be put up or not. Just a hint, if they see you with your hair up, they will expect it up in clinicals.

At our school collar length hair meant the top of the collar, anything below they expected to be put up. I don't think it's something to stress over, just if your hair falls in a questionable area ask your instructor - Mine was a little over my collar, so I just went ahead and put it up so there would be no questions. Also I doubt you'll get in trouble, however I have seen my instructor make other students put their hair up after they arrived.

I personally wear an undershirt and tuck it between my undershirt and my scrub top, works for me, and my hair is almost crack length. L
