This spring semester I am doing basically Gen Eds. I did a few already last summer and this fall. I will be taking these classes:
Medical Terminology
Sociology
Marriage and Family
College Experience
Psychology
Biology
College Reading
During the summer I will be doing the EMT course so I can have experience working in the field and I will also take Anatomy and Physiology 1. Then next fall I will be doing the microbiology and A & P 2... I am stoked for fall semester! Then next spring is NURSING!!!
I agonized over this for too long. I'm currently signed up for Physiology (my school separates A&P into two different classes), growth & development, and the Patient Care Tech class that prepares you to work in the hospitals as a care tech. I'm a second career student and the idea of taking the PCT class is so I can actually quit my day job this summer and instead get working experience at the hospital beyond my volunteer work. I'm so nervous about quitting my full-time job. These classes total 12 credits, but I'm not too sure I can handle all that on top of my full-time job and volunteer work. So I *may* drop the human development class until Summer. I'm waiting I think to find out how much homework the PCT class involves. Because if it's mostly in class stuff during the scheduled class and hospital hours, then I think I could swing all three classes.
I'm still waiting for special permission for two lower devision nursing classes (I'm not in the program yet, but they'll let me take these classes - Trends in Healthcare Development and Cultural Dimensions in Healthcare if there is space), Organic BioChem, and just an elective to stay full time...I'm pretty much done with all non-nursing classes. whew.

Where are you taking classes. I will be at Lawrence and I am looking for a study partner for the ANP 1 class.

Well, I was able to register the EMT class to get my re-cert... That way I can work my way through nursing school.
I wasn't able to get into Chem, but I was able to register for Human Development... which is one of the other pre-reqs I do need.
Anyone else taking that kind of class?
