What classes are you taking? Fall 2016

Published

Just thought it might be nice to have people to chat with over the course of this semester!

I'm taking:

A&P I

Statistics

Speech

Nutrition

School starts for me tomorrow!

Specializes in ICU Stepdown.

Also, on a pre-req note - how many of you find that most non-nursing school people don't understand that we're not even IN nursing school yet? People ask me when I'll be done and they're shocked that I haven't even officially begun yet!

This!!! But I don't blame them, I really had no idea myself until I started. I truly thought the process would be a lot quicker :/

Specializes in Emergency.

It would be nice if we got more to show for all these classes we take in order to qualify for our two-year program. To make matters worse for me, I am 21 credits shy of a Bachelors of Science in Human Development. After I finish the nursing program I will have around 285 college level credits and an Associates Degree to show for it on paper.

I had my third anatomy exam on Tuesday, it was over the bones and muscles of the appendicular skeleton. I got a 76/100 on my practical exam and an 82/100 on my written exam. I am kind of sad about it but at the same time I expected to do worse so it's a bittersweet grade!

I got a 74 on my muscles lab. They were *all* spelling mistakes. I'm pretty pissed at myself.

We did the sheep brain dissection, which was really cool. We had new brains (they are recycled for over 5 years). Next Wednesday is eyes. We have one more lab exam, two more lecture exams and our final in A&P.

And then of course I have finals in Nutrition, Stats and Speech. So in all I have eight tests to complete before December 8th.

Just registered for Spring!

A&P II

Microbiology

Intro to World Religions

Federal Government

After that, I've got three classes left until I graduate with my Associates of Science. Then it's nursing school time!! I can see the tiny light at the end of this particular tunnel.

Some updates so far during my fall quarter.

So far around all A's (I think maybe one High B) Hoping to finish this quarter out with nothing but A's. Gotta get to work on this term paper thats due next month -_-. I have such a hard time writing papers.

Also met with the nursing advisor and got my academic plan together. Since I'm using my post 9/11 education benefits that I earned from the military I will actually be getting a Associates degree in Pre nursing (which covers all prereqs for the ADN program). So I'll actually earn two degrees. One for my pre reqs and the other for nursing school itself.

Good luck with micro! It's definitely killing me lol

It seems like people either love it or hate it! I spent a good amount of time researching my teacher, and it seems like she's really invested in helping her students, so hopefully I'll do okay.

Great job! I'm doing the two degree thing, too. I'll graduate from my community college with an associates of science, then I'll enter nursing school for my BSN. There were like three extra classes I had to take for my AS, so I figured it was worth it.

That awesome! Two degree club coming in! haha.

Another cool thing about my pre nursing degree will incorporate two classes (Near the end of my degree) that will apply to the BSN when I get to working on that.

How are you faring in those? Seems like soooo much! Hehe

Me? I've got three A's and a B right now, so it's going pretty well.
