Do you run iv Tylenol with anything other than normal saline?

We don't run it with anything other than NS. We also use Micromedex. They need to hurry up and test it with other stuff because it's a great option for onc patients that can't keep down PO meds. I've had to waste a couple of doses because of incompatibility issues (as in pt would spike a temp while another med was running, then be afebrile once the line was available) - pharmacy loved me for that

I've run IV panadol with many other different drugs, esp ABX. But you need to check your facilities drug/med book to check what u can and can't do. Obviously you wouldn't give it with any drugs that have panadol in them - that's why you need to check ur drug book re incompatabilities.

Out of curiosity, why is that?

Perhaps the risk of rectal bleeding due to decreased platelets, which is common in heme/onc patients?
