Definitely get any study guides that go along with your text books and a good NCLEX book like Saunders.

I agree with Jules; the study guides that accompany the textbooks are usually questions asked for exams. I also studied from Saunders and did questions from there because they had a great summary of all of the subjects discussed.

This may sound strange but it worked for me. I bought a few pocket-sized books; LPN Facts, Maternal-neonatal facts and Pediatric Facts Made Incredibly Quick to take to clinicals. But these wound up being great for studying basic facts like fetal positions or immunization schedules and I used them for on-the-go memorizing as often as I could. All the bookstores have them in the medical reference section.
Good luck!
