any NYC nurses, please let me know the hospital for fresh grad to start. I'm looking for better training and nurse retention as well as competitive salary.
thanks a lot :)
Lenox Hill recently told an applicant that the orientation there was 7 weeks long...seems a little short.....
I've heard only great things about the orientation at Mt. Sinai. I'm going there for an interview and tour in 2 weeks so I'll have to fill you in when I get back...It's supposedly one of the top hospitals in the US so hopefully they will be as awesome as I hear!

I've heard mixed things about magnet hospitals as being truly deserving places for nurses to work. Some long-time nurses have expressed to me that they believe the magnet designation is more hype than substance.
In NYC, there are 4 magnets: NYU, Hospital for Special Surgery, Elmhurst Hospital in Queens (the only HHC hospital on the list), and Mount Sinai.
