I am a pre-nursing student and I am thinking about becoming a CNA. What do I need to do?

Find a school or facility that offers a CNA course. My school (a small private health sciences school) offers it so I took it there. Community colleges offer them, too.

Depends. Mine was once a week all day for 14 weeks (10 classes and 4 clinical days). Other classes met 2 evenings a week for 14 weeks while 1 class met M-Th all day and were done in a few weeks. I know there are "one day CNA" courses out there as well but my school doesn't accept those for their nursing school requirement. Does your nursing school require you to take a CNA course before you start classes? Some schools don't have any requirement, some require a certified course, while other schools just care if you're on the state registry.
[COLOR=#003366]RunnerRN2b2014- No. My nursing school doesn't require you have a CNA course or be a CNA. I just need a job and figured why not try CNA since I am going to be a nurse in 4 years anyway.
