I went for LPN at 22. Now I'm doing homestudy and should be done by the time I'm 33. I'm 31 now.

Hi,
Can you tell me more about the home study? I'm interested too. Thanks!

Started my actual RN program at age 39, which is average. If I am not mistaken there are two large populations/generations who are actively "starting" their nursing programs right now, (the mid thirty to mid fortys and the twentysomethings).
More power to all of us. :)
Also, lets not forget the mid-fifties folks who are changing over to Nursing as a career.

It is so comforting to be in such good company. In my class I don't feel like the "outsider"; we are such a mixed bag. More power is right! :pumpiron:

Too young. I was 17....going on 12.
Which explains why I took 5 years to do a 3 year program (failed the first time and dropped out for a semester later on). Good thing too...I matured in those years.

Pre reques took a long time as I was initally a pre-vet student. Got into the RN program at 23, and graduated with ADN at 25.

Did 4 years in the military first then went to Nursing school at age 21. Also had my first child in my first year who was 3 when I graduated lol. If I had started fresh out of high school dont think I would have made it through as I just didnt have the personal discipline to really apply myself at that time. Back then joining the military at 17 wasnt so bad but I wouldnt recommend it in todays times just to get that education. It did pay most of my tuition and books though.

I will be 52 when I graduate with a new profession. I spent 25 years as a police officer, was injured, and had to find new career. It has been difficult, but well worth the sacrifice.
