I never, ever follow WGU's course of study (COS). There's enough busy work and reading assignments in their COS to keep a person busy for an entire semester.
I passed the Care of the Older Adult (DPV1) OA with an 81. Keep in mind that Google is your friend. Search for other colleges' lecture notes on gerontological nursing. Here's what I found with a quick search:

Hi everyone! I am taking this class now, any tips on studying? I took the PA and got a 74 but I really felt like I was mostly guessing. I studied the coaching report, took another pa, and got a totally different coaching report. So apparently I am decent at guessing, but with all the studying I do not seem to be finding answers to the questions I guessed at if that makes sense. Im sick of reading the info and want to take the OA and move on.

Hi all!
I just started WGU today (9/1/14) I am starting out with one class - Care of the older adult (DPV1). I took the pre-assessment today and recieved a failing score of 54%. I am trying to read the areas that I am weak in however, I am not quite use to studying online. I feel like I'm reading the entire book and everything seems important to me. I tried opening up microsoft word and filling in the objectives but it seems like I am just copying the book, word for word. How are you all studying for the assessments? Any tips or helpful information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
