WGU RN TO BSN start July 1st!

Published

Hey Guys...

anyone else planning to start rn to bsn July 1st at Western Governors University? I have two prerequisites: BioChem and Stats (mines was too old > 5yrs). Which gives me a total of 31 hrs to complete. My goal is 6 months no long then 12. I'm excited, I still have to do my intake and background. Enrollment counselor said I should have a decision my today or tomorrow. Then we can precede. I'm so ready to go back to school!!

I start July 1st too! I also have to take biochem and stats. I hope I can put in about 40 hours a week to be done in 6 months. If I can finish in 1 term I might go on to the MSN program? Maybe.

I would love to finish in 1 term as well ... I am super excited.

Specializes in Home Health, PDN, LTC, subacute.

Tenatively scheduled to start aug 1. That's if my financial aid goes through.

I am suppose to be starting July 1st too.

Specializes in MS/Telemetry.

Same here - July 1!! Biochem and stats (ugh) plus one history. Goal is 2 semesters.

Specializes in Trauma Surgical ICU.

I'm hoping to start aug 1st. Just started the process.

Specializes in Occupational Health; Adult ICU.

"(mines was too old > 5yrs)" Ouch, ouch oooooouch....

I think that just killed WGU for me. Five years is not a lot of time for stats nor for biochem. My first BS was 1986 and I can still do complex statistical audiology stuff--good enough to publish.

I guess that if the "greater than 5 years holds" I'm dead in the water

If this is the case I'll apply to University of Alabama for their Occ Health RN NP program. If 5 years is the maximum time they allow that knocks just about all older nurses out of the program.

Though thanks for the head's up on this.
