Just checking to see if anyone is starting with me at WGU in November!!
Hi! I'm Sarah and also will be starting at WGU on 11/1/15. I have 40 units to complete and I'm hoping to complete it as quickly as possible (within one to two terms). I have to take Human Growth and Development Across the Lifespan, Introduction to Sociology, Biochemistry, and Introduction to Probability and Statistics prior to any of the core nursing classes. Looking forward to starting this BSN journey!
So crazy, but after commenting on this thread I received an email a few minutes later on Sunday with my transcript evaluation. I have 34 CU's to complete, but I am appealing the sociology class because I did take it. The school labels the class under behavioral sciences so it doesn't look like an intro sociology class, but it is. I hope the appeal is approved then 31 CU's left to take. Problem is I can't start orientation or look at my degree plan unless the intake interview is completed. **Crossing my fingers** good luck everyone!!! I am a single mom of three kids in elementary school. I will bust my butt and try to complete it quickly. The salary between an ADN vs BSN is minimal, but to be able to say I have a Bachelor's degree is all worth it.
My only concern is that WGU specifies "currently employed" as one of their requirements for admission. While I can certainly appreciate the value placed on a nurse's experience level and the reasoning for the listed requirement, I don't plan to return to work until I have completed my higher degree.
Does the WGU admission process include employment verification, or will my CV/Resume' reflecting 27+ years of experience suffice?
Thanks in advance for replying.
Sorry nobody has addressed this yet. One of the reasons why current employment is required is that many of the tasks involve projects that you need to undergo at your place of employment.
Not doing the BSN program but another program there and I start Nov 1st. Really excited because I took a break from school before and that break turned into what 2-3 years. No more breaks for me. I'm going to plow through and continue on with a masters degree.

Wow Debbster ☺only 34? I am hoping I get that amount or less since I took Statistics a few years ago. I am also starting Nov 1. My last transcript was received 6 days ago. I am hoping the evaluation will be complete by Wednesday. I am very excited to finally be on the road of getting a Bachelor's Degree.
