WGU A&P I & II Question

Nursing Students Western Governors

Hello All!

I am currently looking to apply for the CA Pre-Licensure program starting Jan 17th, with an OCTOBER 1st deadline.

My transcript evals stated they wouldn't acept my A&P I & II due to their age 9 and 8 yrs old. . . So unfortunately I'd have to retake them.

I started a upper division Human PHYSIOLOGY class since there was no room in the anatomy sections. (BIOL235 at Miramar College)

Does anyone have experience on how these courses transfer to ?

If I take HUMAN ANATOMY 230 and HUMAN PHYSIOLOGY 235 my expectation is these 2 course (both with respective labs) would count for A&P I and II.

However one of the random enrollment counselors stated that would only count for APII ???

I'm horrified at the thought!

Anyone out there have experience with this?

The good thing about is that they take the highest grade (if you did multiple attempts) you get in a science class. Most schools would average them.

woo Hoo I got a 96% in my Physiology course, and the teacher wrote me an epic recommendation letter for as well - Turns out I was the second highest score in the class and she threw that in there as well. So now my GPA will be closer to 3.4. I also took my TEAS test this morning - Should find out by Wednesday if I got a competitive score.... I took 6 practice tests and averaged an 82% overall. Crossing my fingers i score similarly on the real thing!!

Hi EmmRee - Now I'm even more glad for your details on the 85% TEAS and 3.0 GPA...

I just got my TEAS V test score and got a 92.7%, so Now I'm definitely not going to worry too much about my GPA in AP1 and AP1L --- I'm about a 3rd of the way done with both with a 95%, but took a break to study for TEAS V. I'm aining to finish the classes by end of August since the following weeks I'm moving out of my condo, selling it, trying to find a new place, and have 2 weddings to attend on the weekends. The very High TEAS score definitely affords me some flexibility. I have a B in Microbio, and an A in Physiology... so if I get a B in AP1/L it wouldn't kill me I don't think :)

Hey EsJ87! Did you end up getting accepted into 's program? I'm looking into it as well, but in a different state. I've heard California is the most competitive though. How was AP1 through straighterline? I have the textbook for it, along with a few other supplemental A&P books because getting an A in the class is very intimidating to me. Was the final for the course similar to the material covered in the quizzes? I can't seem to find any information about any recent SL finals. :( Did you also take micro through SL?

T3mama: I would do edukan rather than Straighterline. I did both and Edukan is so much better and more organized. Plus the lab is online and you do not need to worry about doing lab materials being all over your home. Also, since with Edukan they partner you up with a Kansas community college the course can be transferred to a regionally accredited school and not just .

Intereresting - I just started Straighterline because work will reimburse for it. I'm going to look at EDUKAN - hadn't heard of it.
