Hello All!
I am currently looking to apply for the CA Pre-Licensure program starting Jan 17th, with an OCTOBER 1st deadline.
My transcript evals stated they wouldn't acept my A&P I & II due to their age 9 and 8 yrs old. . . So unfortunately I'd have to retake them.
I started a upper division Human PHYSIOLOGY class since there was no room in the anatomy sections. (BIOL235 at Miramar College)
Does anyone have experience on how these courses transfer to WGU?
If I take HUMAN ANATOMY 230 and HUMAN PHYSIOLOGY 235 my expectation is these 2 course (both with respective labs) would count for A&P I and II.
However one of the random enrollment counselors stated that would only count for APII ???
I'm horrified at the thought!
Anyone out there have experience with this?

Take AP 1 and 2 with lab through straighterline. I did both and they transferred.
I do plan on taking SL A&P 1 since anatomy courses in community college will not start until AUGUST.
However, I've already invested my time (13 weeks of 16), sleepless nights, money and sanity in PHYSIO235 and do have a 97% in the course...
So essentially I'm hoping WGU honors this as A&P2 transfer
How did you like the online courses with SL? I've read a lot of reviews that sometimes the tests are not relevant to the information in the lecture or book and it could be difficult to obtain an A... Which concerns me as I need to get an A to even be reasonably eligible for CA cohort.
How quickly were you able to get through these? Where the lab components difficult since they are not in a class setting?
THANK YOU :)

You might want to check with an enrollment counselor because I'm not 100% sure but I think that if you take physiology you need to take anatomy. I do not believe that you can take physiology and then A&PI..... They need to be the same- anatomy and physiology or A&P1 and a&p2
That is what I'm afraid of í ½í¸
I would still call and ask cause you never know they may accept it.... The worst thing that can happen by asking is them saying no

I've done online classes in the past and done really well & I enjoy self paced learning but SL courses are a whole different animal. I'm currently taking SL's A&P 1 & plan on taking A&P 2 & Microbiology through SL too. But I am struggling to get through A&P 1 because the book is jammed packed with info & the way the book is written, the material jumps around at times, so I get confused, which has made it difficult for me to understand & master some concepts. Not only that but the test questions can be tricky, you have to be super careful before you answer them. I'm almost halfway through A&P 1 & have a low "B" right now but I need to bump it up to a low A at minimum because I'm also planning on applying to the SoCal cohort, which is super competitive (as you know).
Khan academy has some really good videos that help
Just as an update- My WGU counselor did state they would take SL AP1 and my CC Physiology class together, said they can mix and match!! I started AP1 online last week and have done my first 2 quizzes. Still waiting on the lab materials to be delivered to start that portion.

I wouldn't kill yourself over a 4.0. I was admitted with a 3.0 in sciences and slightly higher overall. 85 TEAS but I was an EMT so that could've helped me. It is competitive but they take into account the person overall, not just a transcript.
I definitely appreciate that comment. WGU only counts the 3 science class GPA... which kinda sucks because all my other courses that are pre-reqs I had an A in... But the 3 sciences I had B or B+.... So my GPA was also a 3.2 in the Sciences... However I just finished my Physiology course, and I'm 99% sure I'm getting at least a 90%, more likely 95% for final score!! As per AP1, I've found the first 2 quizzes simple, but have heard a lot of negative stuff about taking the midterm and final when knock people back to a B or lower grade...
My WGU counselor keeps trying to keep me positive saying my experience as a case manager for the last couple years and my previous Masters in Healthcare Management should be a huge plus for me. :)
I hope it all works out!!
