Westminster Nurse Anesthesia 2018

Published

Anyone applying to Westminster this year? I know their clinicals are a little all over the place, but does anyone know if all the states belong to the compact nursing license states? Anyone have advice on interviews for them? Thanks!

I've not been able to see it as anything other than Gorgonzola since i first saw the school... lol that's how I remembered it...lol

Well don't worry too much cause there are a lot of schools out there and you are a great candidate with your GPA and experience. Their loss...

And yes, California is absurdly slow. My friend couldn't take his NCLEX for about 6 months because they kept losing his "file" and they lost his "photograph" and so many other BS things held him up. And they never answer the phone. Some student even drove the 800 miles, or whatever it is, to Sacramento to speak with them. It's crazy. It must be like 1 old lady watching golden girls and eating fig newtons trying to process the entire state's RN paperwork while cashing our checks.... that's what it seems like anyway.

:roflmao:

That is quite the mental picture!

My husband was telling me the same thing about Gonzaga. Which I get all that intellectually but emotionally I am not there yet, you know? I need a day or two to cry in my beer so to speak. You have all these people taking time to write letters and you never really know what each program is looking for and what that magic combination is.

I can't even imagine what it is like to try to pick through applications though and deciding who gets an interview. I do not envy their job one bit.

Ya I can't imagine. This is just my first round of applications so I haven't felt the rejection phase yet-I know it's probably coming though... odds are I'll be crying in my rum-n-pineapple soon enough... and flying out to these interviews-if I'm lucky to get that far-is going to be expensive... just the application is expensive with transcripts and everythig too-I went to a few colleges to order from now.

And ya, the recommendations are terrible. Bothering these people repeatedly. I even was lucky enough to shadow a CRNA, but he's super busy. I don't want to ask him for anothr Rec letter-but I will of course..lol.

And the doctors and unit managers. This process is rough.... Geeeze

I see I seeeeee. Wow ok. Thanks for sharing.

So are you answering the "optional" short essay for OHSU? It seems like we don't really have a choice since they "will weigh it in their application score"z why even say it's optional? To weed out the lazy people? ...lol

I really want to not answer it. It's a tough one... gonna take some real time to answer it well.

And yeah, I will probably answer all the optional short essays for OHSU. I don't want to either.

I just read that other comment... eeeek. I thought all LoR had to be through that electronic thing? No? Oi... well that's five days. That's plenty of time. Even to go a few states. Are you in Utah?

It's totally legit to mail them! I gave them a heads up it was coming.

There's more than 1? I thought it was a 700 word deal answering all those questions?

The 700 words is just for the actual essay question. The other questions are the diversity questions and are answered separately.
