Hi all!
I, being the impatient person that I am, decided to make a thread to discuss the upcoming cycle of applications for Western University of Health Sciences, Masters of Science in Nursing Entry program.
A little about me, my undergrad is a B.S. in Public Health, but I always was interested in the nursing field. After getting my CNA license I decided that this was the field for me and want to eventually go on to become a Nurse Practitioner. I've been working on my application and I'm very nervous/excited to hear back (even though that seems forever away haha). Anyone else applying for this cycle, and if so what are your thoughts on the program??
Looking forward to hearing from you all!

Hi! I'm actually not sure if they look at the last 60 as anything substantial. I think they look at you as a whole in addition to your prereq/science gpa. My undergrad gpa is a 3.9, prereqs are 4.0, and science is 4.0. Despite having high grades, my resume is weird since I have been a mother and not in the workforce for the better part of the last decade!

I think that they will be sending out notifications/emails for interviews and the Early Acceptance in December but I'm not 100% sure.
From what I know, the Early Acceptance interview is an informal interview where the prospective student gets paired with a current MSN-E student to get to know the applicant and find out if they match the person that wrote the personal statements (I think this is over lunch). Then, we have a writing portion where we get asked a question and have to write about it. If the current MSN-E student likes the prospective student, then they will give that feedback to the admissions team and they will make a final decision (I'm not sure if the applicant finds out on the spot if they got accepted or if they find out later). I believe there is also a tour of the campus.
For regular interview invitations, there is also a writing portion and then I think we get interviewed one-on-one with someone from the admissions team.
Hope this helps!
Hi guys!,
I am so glad one of you started this so we can all stress out together! :)
I just submitted my app yesterday (LORS and transcripts were all completed) and from what I know, we should receive emails in about 2 weeks telling us if our application will be sent to the committee.
Best of luck to us all!

I attached my own resume but made sure to include what they wanted in it.
