Western University MSN-E 2020

Published

Hi all!

I, being the impatient person that I am, decided to make a thread to discuss the upcoming cycle of applications for Western University of Health Sciences, Masters of Science in Nursing Entry program.

A little about me, my undergrad is a B.S. in Public Health, but I always was interested in the nursing field. After getting my CNA license I decided that this was the field for me and want to eventually go on to become a Nurse Practitioner. I've been working on my application and I'm very nervous/excited to hear back (even though that seems forever away haha). Anyone else applying for this cycle, and if so what are your thoughts on the program??

Looking forward to hearing from you all!

Hi everyone!

I'm also applying to this year's cycle. I'm still finishing up my personal statements so I'm super nervous that I'm late in sending in my app! Hopefully it still has the same value as others who already turned it in. I'm hoping to turn it in by this Friday!

I also only got 2 references.

I'm finishing mine up as well!

Does anyone know if when you submit makes a difference? I'm mainly waiting on my recommendations to be submit.

Oh ok! I don't feel so alone anymore lol.

From what I found out at Preview Day, you don't have to wait for your recommendations to be submitted before you turn in your application. Can anyone else confirm this?

Yes i can confirm this, I had been emailing with an admissions counselor while I was finishing up my application and i had this same question. This was his answer to me "You can submit your application while you wait for your recommendations to come in. You do not have to wait for the letters to come in order for you to submit your application." So yeah you can just request them and submit the application while you are waiting for them to be turned it. Also after submitting your application, you can check the application status anytime afterwards and it tells you if the letters of recommendations are submitted yet or not, or if they are in progress or not. Also while looking at the status there is a section where you can send a reminded email to your recommenders AND you can even add another recommender if one isn't being responsive. So don't worry about it, if thats the only thing you're waiting on, you might as well just submit it, and can make additions afterwards.

Also, I turned in my application beginning of this month but I am still worried just like you guys about it being late because as far as i understood, it isn't considered complete until the recommendations are submitted and all transcripts are processed as well. Does this mean if all of my recommendations are not submitted by the deadline, then its an automatic disqualification? Does anyone know? Also i just turned in all my transcripts last last week and I have no idea how long it'll take for them to process it, i just been checking the status every day like a crazy person hoping it'll be done quick lol

Hi all,

Just curious, are you guys submitting your applications for the Fall 2020 EL-MSN program? I am working on my personal statements questions and will be submitting my application soon! I am so thankful for this page, reading through all your posts helps me feel not so alone through this nerve-racking process!

- Good luck to you all!

Hey! From what I found out at Preview Day, all of your transcripts and recommendation letters need to be submitted by the deadline of November 1st in order to be considered. If you submitted your transcripts electronically, then it should be quick! I think it takes like 3 business days or less and you can check the status on your application. I sent mine electronically and my transcripts were received by Western the following day. You can also call the admissions office and ask if they have received it, just to be sure. That's what I did!

Hope this helps!

Yes! I'm submitting my app for the MSN-Entry Fall 2020 cycle. I'm also super nervous but glad to know that other people are just as nervous. Good luck to you too!

I sent two of my transcripts electronically and one i handed in personally. The electronic ones were sent sometime last week, Hopefully they get processed soon

When I sent mine electronically one school only took a couple of days, but the other school took way longer so I emailed the admissions counselor and he said:

"Normally, our processing department can take up to 7-10 business days to process documents, especially during our application peek."

Hope that helps!

Hi! I am planning to apply for fall 2020 as well. I have a question to ask about the application. If I am taking two classes this fall semester, do I still send my transcript in because it is still in progress. I already sent in my previous transcripts from my undergrad.

yea I'm taking 2 classes right now as well, they told me to just send in all transcripts i have. So that's what i did. on my prereq worksheet I wrote them down and just put In Progress instead of a grade. I'm assuming after i finish them and get a grade back I might have to resend the transcript for it? not sure though.

Thank you for the help! I'm so nervous ?

Luniz to answer your question...That is what I did last year when I applied. I aced both classes and assumed I would send in my updated transcript when my grades were out. When I emailed them regarding where I can send in my updated transcript they told me that they will only ask for your updated transcript IF you get accepted :( So it kinda sucks because they judge your application w/o those classes. This year I will be applying with all my prerequisite classes done. Preview day they told use starting next year they are not going to allow people to have their science prerequisites in progress anymore and they have to be done by the time of the application. I hope this helps.
