Western University MSN-E 2020

Published

Hi all!

I, being the impatient person that I am, decided to make a thread to discuss the upcoming cycle of applications for Western University of Health Sciences, Masters of Science in Nursing Entry program.

A little about me, my undergrad is a B.S. in Public Health, but I always was interested in the nursing field. After getting my CNA license I decided that this was the field for me and want to eventually go on to become a Nurse Practitioner. I've been working on my application and I'm very nervous/excited to hear back (even though that seems forever away haha). Anyone else applying for this cycle, and if so what are your thoughts on the program??

Looking forward to hearing from you all!

No this year you are good! I meant the following year! It just sucks that there is no way to send your updated transcript so they can see your grades unless you are accepted ?

oh good! Does everyone mind sharing their GPA? Im kinda worried about mine. Also do you guys know what GPA they look at? The overall GPA? the prereq gpa, the last 60units?

Hi everyone! I am submitting my application tonight and am super nervous about submitting it so late! Someone had mentioned to me that they accept on a rolling basis, but at preview day they made it sound like everyone's was looked at evenly despite date submitted. Can anyone confirm? I'm so nervous! I hope we all get in!

Hi, I'm not sure if I am reading the application wrong but where does it say to send in the official transcripts? Is it part of the application where we attach our transcript or do we just have to mail it in? sos

The instructions for transcripts are provided in the application checklist: https://prospective.westernu.edu/media/nursing/msn-entry/pdfs/msne-application-checklist.pdf

Hi, I'm currently trying to send my transcript and it shows the western university graduate nursing office as one of the options for my school, but thats not the mailing addressing on the link you sent me so it's probably wrong?

Am I allowed to send my transcript through my school to the email [email protected] ? Sorry I'm confused and lowkey panicking cause Im scared it won't get in on time.

I would go with the address provided by Western U. I’m not sure about emailing them, you should call and ask.

Did you guys follow the suggested format for your resume that was posted on the Western U site? Or did you upload whatever resumes format you already had?

I did not copy the exact format/order but I included what they wanted. For example, I listed my volunteer experience/clinical experience before my work experience. However, on the format they had it the other way around. I don't think this (the order) matters as long as you have the information they need.

Where do you see the format that they want you to have?

On the website where they listed the application checklist, prerequisite coursework sheet, and repeated course work sheet they had a link for a resume template.
