Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi all!

I, being the impatient person that I am, decided to make a thread to discuss the upcoming cycle of applications for Western University of Health Sciences, Masters of Science in Nursing Entry program.

A little about me, my undergrad is a B.S. in Public Health, but I always was interested in the nursing field. After getting my CNA license I decided that this was the field for me and want to eventually go on to become a Nurse Practitioner. I've been working on my application and I'm very nervous/excited to hear back (even though that seems forever away haha). Anyone else applying for this cycle, and if so what are your thoughts on the program??

Looking forward to hearing from you all!

Hi everyone. I have a small update for those who haven’t heard (like myself). I called this morning and they stated they will not be sending any invites out this week and will resume late next week.

Thank you for updating us! ? and congratulations to everyone who received an invite to EAO and for an interview!!!

thanks for the update! I hope we hear back soon, but does this mean interviews won't be until end of Feb?

Regular interviews will be throughout February. I think Alberto told me there would be 5-6 dates

Does anyone know if there will be more Early Acceptance interviews? Other than the invites that went out last week?

Alberto told me earlier today they will send two more waves of interview requests. The second wave should be later this week.

He also just had a baby literally two weeks ago, which is why he was out of the office. So if anyone is waiting for him to get in contact, he will; it'll just take time

Hi all, I just thought of this and it stresses me out so much. For the EAO, you will have to be there from 8-4 they will be able to observe EVERYTHING you do, say, act etc. rather than the formal interview only takes about 2 hours max. ??

Be grateful that you have this opportunity. You might be more stressed without an EAO day! ? They obviously loved your application. I think you are lucky to have this additional time with them. You will be able to ensure the school is the best fit for you and your talents! I think it would be more of a networking opportunity than anything else- use it to your advantage to learn about Western and get excited about them ❤️ I hope to get the same chance, but haven't heard anything yet.

EAO is such an amazing opportunity. Don't be stressed at all. You earned it and they just want to get to know you a little more aside from your application. The day also consists of presentations and lunch so don't worry too much about the amount of time you will be there. Just be yourself and you will do great! This is such a big deal! You will be just fine ? I hope to hear back from Western soon as well and get the same opportunity as you! Good luck!

Hi guys, I called Admissions this morning.

They are not sending invites today. He said they have quite a bit to send out next week and the following week. Just wanted to get some clarification for all of us because they had told one of us it would be today and another person they told it would be next week.

Also for everyone nervous about the EAO opportunity, don't be! Although it is an all day thing it is very relaxed. They just want to get to know you and answer all your questions about the program. Good luck and congrats!

Did you happen to ask if they have any more EAODs to send by any chance?

I read online that for EAO day, there’s a 30 minute writing exercise so the College of Graduate Nursing can have a sample of your writing skills. Has anyone heard about this or know what the prompts usually are?
