I haven't seen any forums about the upcoming application for next year's MSN-E program so I thought I'd start! I have a degree from University of Oregon in Human Physiology with experience as a Medical Scribe and in a variety of PT and Chiropractic settings! (Switched from PT/Kinesiology to Nursing!) I'm interested in the FNP track and am really excited about Western. Feel free to post any questions/stats/etc and join me in freaking out over apps! Are any of you attending any of the upcoming information sessions as well?
Hi everyone,
As tradition, previous cohorts create group pages for the new cohort to welcome and help the transition process. We're here to help answer all the questions you have for us :)
So cohort 14 made a facebook group for everyone who accepted their admission. You can find us at: Western University of Health Sciences MSNE Cohort XV.

Hi Snazzjazz,
Thank you for the info. Does the group use another form of communication aside from FB, I don't have an account?
Also since you asked about questions, if we are accepted I noticed some students on this thread that have been accepted mentioned that they had to pay a deposit for their spot, do you recall how much that deposit was/is? Thank you for your help and for joining our thread.
Hi! I had an interview recently and I recall them mentioning that the deposit was $500 to be paid by two weeks after you receive your acceptance. I'm not entirely sure but just to give you an idea.
Hi Dearestem - thanks so much for the info, I really appreciate it. I thought it was going to be over $5000 for some reason. Thanks for your help!
Lunabug,
There's Westernu email, but that is a professional form of contact we use for academics. As for getting to know your classmates, asking and answering questions, staying updated with events, and collaborating, we use facebook as our main form of communication.
One of my classmates who didn't have a facebook made one specifically for the group. I highly recommend it :)

Hi Bumpkinnurse - Have a few questions on hand that you would like to ask the interviewers. They say you won't have time to ask but I brought my notes just in case and I felt it made my interview a little more engaging. Also it's a short essay on a word (i.e - empathy) so just be prepared to write a good short essay. Lastly just try to relax, a lot of my fellow candidates we're very nervous. So I suggest doing a quick meditation or affirmation before going into the building. Your going to do great, just keep saying that to yourself. Best of Luck!!
