Western University MSN-E 2018

Published

I haven't seen any forums about the upcoming application for next year's MSN-E program so I thought I'd start! I have a degree from University of Oregon in Human Physiology with experience as a Medical Scribe and in a variety of PT and Chiropractic settings! (Switched from PT/Kinesiology to Nursing!) I'm interested in the FNP track and am really excited about Western. Feel free to post any questions/stats/etc and join me in freaking out over apps! Are any of you attending any of the upcoming information sessions as well?

Hey there. Did you speak with someone to find this out? Next Friday as in March23rd?

I emailed AE. That's all he said was by next Friday.

I got my rejection letter! Lol, already accepted at my first choice program!

Congrats on your school of choice! Did you have an interview for WesternU?

Awww. Well congrats to you for getting accepted to your first choice. Did your receive the email today? And good luck in your educational endeavers!

Aw are they sending out emails or snail mail?

Congrats on your acceptance to your first choice! Just curious if you received an email or physical letter in the mail? Thank you and good luck in your program!

Yup, by March 23rd.

Yeah March 23? I have to let USD know by March 24!

Yes, by March 23rd.

Looks like next week will be the week. Keep us updated, everyone :)

Hi Everyone! I'm waiting for news from Western as well. I interviewed on the first day Jan 22, they said we would hear back mid-March... it's passed mid-March!

Anyone heard yet? Should be this week

Hi SomedayFNP - congratulations on being accepted to USD, that was one of my top picks. If I may, why would you prefer to go to Western over USD. My apologies if the question is too personal, I was just curious. Thanks and congrats again!

Thank you!! Oh no problem! So I'd prefer to go to Western over USD and actually I just turned down my USD acceptance. With USD's program it'd just take way longer to get my FNP degree so ultimately I'm looking for programs that have an easy transition into a FNP program. Westerns FNP program accepts "in house" applications from MSN-E students and you can go directly into the FNP after the MSN. At USD they require you to leave and get at least 2 years experience before they'll let you come back and reapply for their NP program.
