I haven't seen any forums about the upcoming application for next year's MSN-E program so I thought I'd start! I have a degree from University of Oregon in Human Physiology with experience as a Medical Scribe and in a variety of PT and Chiropractic settings! (Switched from PT/Kinesiology to Nursing!) I'm interested in the FNP track and am really excited about Western. Feel free to post any questions/stats/etc and join me in freaking out over apps! Are any of you attending any of the upcoming information sessions as well?

Early acceptance opportunity (EAO) is pretty much an informal interview over lunch in a group setting. I wouldn't recommend bringing a family member to the luncheon portion. Maybe bring the family member during the optional tour of the campus afterwards? Just my opinion.
You will be having lunch with other early acceptance applicants. Each table will typically have one faculty member and one current MSNE student along with 3-5 other applicants. You will have the opportunity to ask the students and faculty questions. They may ask some questions about your passions/why nursing/why WesternU. Pretty standard questions about yourself. I haven't heard of any scenario questions being asked at Early Acceptance, not to say that it won't happen. (Scenario questions are typically part of those participating in formal interviews and not EAO).
My tip would be to speak up and be yourself. If you barely say anything during the entire luncheon, you would have missed an opportunity to present who you are and why they should accept you. Its their opportunity to get to know you, and your opportunity to figure out if WesternU is for you. Good luck. Don't forget to breathe. ?
