Western University MSN-E Application Time!

Well, I thought this day would never come, but the application period for Western U's MSN-E program starts a week from today!

I'm beyond nervous, as I've been working on this career change for over three years now. Every time I write a little of my personal statement I get a little shaky. This is so unlike me too, I'm usually cool as a cucumber.

Anyone else here planning to apply for 2012? Are you as nervous as I am?

I too am bummbed out about the extension because I pushed so hard to have submitted by the 10/3 deadline. But I know we all agree that NursingCAS is a huge problem so hopefully this extension will not stress out the staff at Western to have everything complete by a certain date. It gives more time to review.

My stats are around a 3.7-3.8 last 60 units of GPA and around 400-500 hrs of volunteer work (Hem/Onc, Endo, and an Urgent Care). BA in Psychology and History from UC San Diego pursing a FNP. I would LOVE to go abroad and practice and work with so many different communities. We will see what happens.

Just received an email from the Admissions office stating that my file was ready for review, and that I would get a phone call or letter regarding my status. It sounds like they're starting to read applications!!!!

Hey guys!

I just wanted to update you guys and let you know that they finally received the NursingCAS application that I submitted Sept. 9th. So don't worry, it takes a while for them to process it :)

I checked the status of my application and the message box says that "application materials received". Did anyone get this message too? Does that mean they will review it soon?

ugh! I paid and submitted my applications (both NursingCas and the secondary) a week before the original deadline. It still says "application in process". I e-mailed them today so hopefully they can sort this out. An admission counselor told me that if anything is missing, they will notify me.

My body will be in sympathetic mode from now until January!

I wouldn't worry too much. I submitted both my NursingCAS and secondary app on 8/15, the FIRST day of the application period. My status was just marked "Application Materials Received" last week.

My app status just changes to "Materials Received" the other day. I think they're definitely starting to get caught up with everything that has been sent in. Good luck to everyone :)

Well, as of today, it's exactly one month until the new application deadline! I wonder how the extended application period will effect the timeline for notification of interview invites.

I still can't believe the date is that far out. I completely forgot about Western until I got a notification that someone replied to this thread. Thanks Maseca! haha.

Guess we're all caught up with other applications for other programs as well...
