i just received an acceptance email!!!! i'm so excited!! did anyone else from the waitlist get in?

Congratulations!! I still haven't received word.. but im crossing my fingers. By any chance can you tell me who you got the e-mail from?

Thanks.. and I'm still hoping.....

Specializes in Couplet Care/Newborn Nursery.

peengk: Congratulations!!!!! :yeah:Are you from southern california?

AllRhi8: I am keeping my fingers crossed for you too! Is this the only school you applied to?

thanks! :)

AllRhi8: I got the e-mail from Daniell Mendoza yesterday.. I'm really surprised they're accepting from the waitlist so early. I'm thinking there's a good chance that they're going to accept a lot of people from the waitlist then... I really hope you get in!!

as27: yeah I'm from southern california... I'm not that far from the campus I guess because I live in buena park... so I'm contemplating whether to commute or not :/..

Peengk: Congratulations again! If I do get excepted this year.. we should carpool :p im from Cerritos!

as27: this is the only grad school I applied to... I applied to 2 AccBSN, but Ive decided to turn them down because I rather wait a year (if I don't get in this year) and go straight for my masters. Next time I'll try other schools, but I didn't think my application was strong enough. Hopefully I'll get in so I can join you guys :)

I'm still waiting to hear from them, I think I'll ring them on monday.

TO Pauliegirl- I was directly accepted into western university, I have a bs degree in biology and a minor in chem. In addition to that I have done a lot of volunteer work with people with Hiv and working in a free clinic where I was trained to to educate, draw blood, and give vaccines, and I'm a CNA. I know that the key to getting into a lot of these sort of nursing programs is to have direct patient care experience as a volunteer. It shows a previous committment to this field and wanting to be involved in it that schools usually look at the most.

To everyone attending Western’s MSN-E program starting Fall 2009, someone started a facebook group called “Western University of Health Sciences – Nursing Students – Entering 2009” Hope to see you all there! :)

Hi guys! I'm in the program now and was on the wait list last year. I kept my file current; vaccinations, CPR, etc. I also kept on them. I was on the phone just about once a week asking about open positions. I received an email first asking me to join c/o 2012 and I sent my deposit in right away. I know of several other people in my class who were on the wait list too. It happens!

pmgamber,

thanks for the hope. i contact valerie valle via e-mail often. do you think it makes a difference if i call them over the phone? what did you do? when did you get accepted from the wait list? valerie said there hasn't been any movement from the list, so far, but she expecting that things will start to change in june.

its been almost 2 months.... i can't take this anymore... im trying to make plans for the next year... =(

I didn't get accepted till May. May 8th to be exact. They will accept till the week or two before school starts. I called, faxed, etc. I really kept up on everything. Vaccines, CPR, etc. I was in weekly contact with them. I don't know if my persistence helped, but when I interviewed they said that if you were placed on the waitlist, to keep your application active and keep up to date on all that stuff. I did. Valeria is right that there will be movement. They don't tell us current students what's going on, but I know that a lot (5?) of my classmates and I were on the waitlist and we got in. Call them and be politely persistent. Keep your application up to date. Pray. I had given up hope and made plans for the next year of my life. I had come to terms with not going to school and then that week I was accepted.

Oh! Also, I knew I was ready to go, so I also had my deposit set aside and sent in the check the next day. Be ready for that too.
